Every Possibility
“Every Possibility” is a series about the delicious joy of possibility. Though some may not look it, all the photographs here are single images; none are composites or multiple exposures, and I have “found” them in countries around the world.
Do you remember the feelings you had when school let out for the first day of summer? The possibilities! The expansive joy! The anticipation of endless bright days filled with countless new adventures.
That’s the feeling I’m trying to evoke. I’ve long been interested the concept of the multiverse, the idea that, beyond our observable universe, there are infinite other universes where every possible twist and turn of our lives play out. Like the first day of summer, what so excites me about the multiverse are the possibilities—what if we peeked behind that door instead of passing it by? Is that a fish in the sky? That shadowy person, is he signaling from another room or another dimension? Through these layered, startling, and ambiguous photographs, I want to turn viewers’ thoughts to other possibilities for themselves and their lives.
