Kanazawa Gold

Kanazawa, on the west coast of Japan’s Honshu Island, is often called “Little Kyoto” because of its historic samurai and teahouse districts and its stunning 400-year-old Kenrokuen Garden. It’s also been producing most of Japan’s gold leaf for 400 years.

Last October, I found gold of a different sort in Kanazawa: Led by master photographer Sam Abell and an excellent team from Nobechi Creative, 10 of us spent a blissful week wandering the city and making images. Here are a few.
